Letter From The Publisher

Welcome to Syndic No. 17. 

Syndic No.17 contains 12 chapters of Resistance!

This issue is a bit of a departure from our more regular fare – an eclectic selection of poetry, stories, artwork , photographs, etc.  – but the dramatic changes taking place in our country – and in the world-at-large  – cry out for a response and yes, resistance!

I never planned nor expected to live long enough to see the resurgence of white supremacy, the public rebirth of the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazi brown shirts, the deportation of immigrants, voter suppression,  the widespread desire to impose evangelical Christian sharia on local and state governments, almost-daily gun violence – all  paving the way for our inexorable slide into fascism . . . but here we are! Here I am!

I plan to publish two issues of Syndic in 2018.  Syndic No. 18 (to be published in March) will be titled: “Remembering 9/11”. Syndic No. 19 (to be published in July) will be titled: “Resistance!”  I welcome all submissions of artwork, poetry, photography, stories, audios, videos, etc. relating to these two topics:  Remembering 9/11 & Resistance!
