A Note About The Great Bear Rainforest

Photographer Bob Reed writes: Located along the coast of British Columbia and Prince Rupert, the Great Bear Rainforest is a large temperate rainforest of about 16 million acres.  Much of the area is comprised of narrow glacier-carved inlets with steep granite cliffs and deep channels. This remote and relatively undisturbed area is the home of several First Nations communities, as well as abundant wildlife including grizzly and black bears, bald eagles, humpback and gray whales, stellar sea lions and a large variety of other animals, birds and sea life. I shot these photographs during my visit there in September 2016.
